Hey There

Everyone has a unique journey, some parts difficult and other parts seemingly effortless. My aim is to provide you with a safe, non-judgmental, and comfortable space where we can explore these difficulties together. I hope to draw on your strengths and support you in navigating challenging moments so that you can take back your power and become the best version of yourself.

My approach is customized to each person because we all come with our own experiences and stories. You are the expert of your own life and I want to be there to support and guide you through your journey. Starting therapy can be hard and I believe that building a strong, collaborative therapeutic relationship can make a world of a difference to the process. For this reason, I tend to incorporate a lighthearted, transparent, honest, and collaborative approach to our time together.

All About Brianna

Graduating from York University, where she obtained a Master of Social Work Degree, Brianna is a Registered Social Worker specializing in mental health. Brianna is both passionate and highly effective in her work with youth and young adults. Prior to obtaining her graduate degree, she studied Psychology at the University of Guelph, with a focus on the science of early childhood development, parental influence on children’s behavioural and emotional development, and understanding the inner workings of the brain. While there she was the author and co-author of a number of research studies, including a study focused on the impact of anxiety on the physiological and psychological stress responses in youth.

Dedicated and driven, Brianna was a valued clinician for a number of non-profit community mental health organizations where she provided counselling, facilitated workshops, and co-developed mental health programs for children and youth. The success of her programs has allowed for their continued operation.

As a new therapist, Brianna brings a fresh perspective, enthusiasm, openness, and warmth that make her an excellent choice for young adult and youth populations. She is skilled at building relationships with her clients, and genuine in her commitment to the recovery of each client she serves. In addition to private practice, Brianna continues to work at a children’s community mental health agency where she provides counselling for children, adolescents, young adults, and their families. She uses her knowledge and skills to effectively address a broad range of complex mental health concerns as well as challenges stemming from family conflict. She also facilitates community mental health workshops for children, youth, parents, and educators in the Peel region.

Brianna’s primary treatment approach is grounded in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), however, as a continual learner she is highly effective at integrating various treatment modalities, including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT).

Brianna is licensed in Ontario (with the Ontario College of Social Workers & Social Service Workers), therefore clients of this province are eligible for reimbursement through their private extended health insurance providers.
