When To Get Help

We all know what it’s like to feel down from time to time, but how do we know when what we’re experiencing has risen to the clinical levels of depression? If you have found yourself feeling down, sad, or apathetic (numb or disconnected from your emotions), a loss of appetite or over eating, loss of pleasure in activities previously enjoyed, over sleeping or difficulty sleeping, low energy for much of the time, little to no motivation to accomplish things, feelings of guilt, worthlessness, hopelessness, helplessness, loneliness, poor concentration, and indecisiveness that persists for much of the day and several days at a time, these are indicators you may be experiencing depression. When these symptoms begin to negatively impact your relationships, your ability to engage in each present moment, hinders your ability to perform daily tasks, and interferes with physiological needs (e.g. sleep), it may be time to seek support.
